District Governor's Message Coming to you from Down Under WELCOME TO ALL!! THE NEW MULTIPLE DISTRICT 35 FLORIDA AND THE BAHAMAS DISTRICT- L!! Here it is-- A new Lionistic Year! The impending redistricting has been completed. As we go "Back to the Future" Let us treat each member of our organization as we treat the communities "WE SERVE". Our International President, Sid Scruggs theme for 2010-2011: A Beacon of Hope, expresses the thought that there are more than 1.3 million lighthouses in 205 countries-Lions members who will continue to light the way, and serve as beacons of hope. The key to our success is through service and impactful projects.
We have a team of Leaders and doers that will Light the Way for District 35 –L. Utilize what we have; use the newsletter to benefit the activities of you club. Send your articles to Lion Joan Harrell. The District website is there for you. Use it! Lion Richard Carey II, webmaster, is anxious for your input to spread your thoughts and activities within the District. First Vice District Governor Jerry Skufe and Second Vice District Governor Pat Hall will have a positive impact in our District this coming year and I look forward to working with you. I look forward to bringing information to you from Sydney. Until next month, Lion Dick Richards District Governor 35-L 1st Vice District Governor's Message I look forward to working with District Governor Dick Richards in being in service to the Lions of District L. I have two immediate priorities….. (1) to support the Governor in all of his endeavors and programs and (2) to provide leadership to the District’s MERL Team. On a personal note, I want to thank the Lions of District L for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your First Vice District Governor. It is both an honor and privilege to do so. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge some very special people who are, or have been, important in my Lion’s journey. First, my wife, Lion Barbara for her support. Secondly, my sponsor, Lion Harry Hicken, for introducing me to Lionism some 8+ years ago, as well as for being a great club team member. What a blessing it has been to have Lion Harry and his wife, Nancy, in my life. There are Lions within the district who have been very instrumental in my Lions journey……Lions Carl and Joan Harrell; Lion John Lovell; Lion Gunter Hirsch; and Lion Michael C. Mason. Thanks to all of them for their support, as well as for the opportunities they created for me in Lionism. I look forward to meeting the Lions of district L during my travels around the district.
